THE WARRIOR WITHOUT A HEART (WINTER'S EDGE)

THE WARRIOR WITHOUT A HEART (WINTER'S EDGE)

The freezing rain pounds on his cloak
Soaking through and he's so soaked
He looked ahead and sees the frozen trees
Exhausted, he wants to fall to his knees
The cold embraces hum so he can forget
How his heart was ripped out without regret
He still thinks of her even though she doesn't care
Wishing she could still warm him in this cold air
But wishing is hopeless, that dream is gone
He will never love again from this point on
He can still remember those beautiful times
Those happy memories he replays in his mind
He could smile once, now he doesn't know
As he makes his way through ice and snow
He embraces the cold, he wants to feel numb
So he can escape the pain he has tried to run from
"Why, Nora, why did you do this to me?
You destroyed my heart, pain is all I can see!
I loved you so much and was your first in command!
For loving you I have been banished from the land!
Now I have nothing, I'm just a broken soul!
Without you, I will never be whole!"
His words only bounce off the trees in an echo to no one
His words were only heard by him as he wishes for the sun

THE COLD, HIS LOVE

THE COLD, HIS LOVE

In the cold winds, he travels alone
This is the only way he has ever known
He has no heart, it has died long ago
So he enjoys the embrace of the ice and snow
His sword by his side, the cold is his best friend
Relentless, aggressive and knows no end
The companion to his loneliness, they make the perfect pair
As he stops to admire the frigid winter air
He feels alive now, at least there's that
Knowing that's all he'll ever have
His chances of love has come and gone
He wants to die but he must go on
The cold lovingly embraces him as he forgets his sadness
Soothes his pain and slow descent into madness
He thinks of the Queen who once crushed his heart
The day his hopes were blown apart
Ever since then he has wandered the Frozen lands
Fighting to protect himself with his sword in his hands
His only love now is the beautiful cold
His love that will only embrace him until I grow old.

WASTING AWAY

WASTING AWAY

Here he sits, in front if a TV
Along with others, waiting for death
Thinking to himself, ”Is this really me?”
Thinking about all of his past regrets
He was a strong young man once
Full of youth, had nothing but energy
The class clown, was always called a dunce
Always had fun, full of life was he
As he grew, he joined and fought overseas
And bombs rained down over his head
Chaos and war was all he could ever see
He survived it all and he was a hero, that's what they said
Time marched on, he came home and found a wife
Had the "dream", his kids and a white picket fence
The perfect job and that became the center of his life
Loyal to his only love as he wondered what life meant
Time kept marching on, and so did the cruel hands of fate
As he sobbed by his wife's bed
Losing her was almost too much to take
The one he lived for, full of life once was now dead
Crushed, they said he couldn't live alone
His own kids are telling him how to live?
He spent so many years out and on his own
The cruel hands of fate showed itself once again
He began to forget things and thought his wife was still alive
He woke up looking for her and she wasn't there
Where did his love go, she was always by his side
So he wandered out in the midnight winter air
The police found him wandering, not knowing where he was
His kids, worried for him decided to put him here
His past is clear but the present seems like static and fuzz
As he sits in front of the TV, filled with an unknown fear
Others are around him, does he know them at all?
What year is this?  Does he have to go to work?
What day is it again?  It's hard to recall
Where is his wife, the woman who could move heaven and earth?
The endless questions haunt him as he's a prisoner of his mind
Forgetting things as fast as he remembers
Slowly wasting away, until finally it's his time
As his memories fade away like dying embers.

HURTING A FRIEND

HURTING A FRIEND

It's the last thing I wanted to do
But that's exactly what I did
I trampled your feelings and hurt you
To turn back time, what I wouldn't give
Anyone else can say whatever
I would never care
But I hurt you and I'm hurt forever
With my head down, at the floor I stare
I didn't think about your feelings, I take the blame
I should have thought before I spoke
But like an idiot, I spread the flames
That almost smothered our friendship in thick black smoke
For that, I am sorry, I can't say it enough
Forgive a fool who spoke before he thought
Forgive a fool who think of consequences
Forgive a fool who did do what he ought
Forgive a fool whose spirits has diminished
I have a lot to learn and I know this is true
I'm willing to make changes to make things right
I'm so sorry for doing something stupid to hurt you
I swear I'll try to be a better friend in life.

THE MYSTERIOUS WARRIOR FROM THE EAST (SOMEONE JOINS IN THE QUEST)

THE MYSTERIOUS WARRIOR FROM THE EAST (SOMEONE JOINS IN THE QUEST)

She takes up camp for the night
After a long day of travel, gets ready to sleep
Starts a fire and falls asleep with her knife Feeling comfortable from the fire's heat
Then she slowly falls into her dreams
When she was can in the golden towers
When she took the oath of silence for her queen
Where she trained and got her strength and power
Her last world's were: "I won't speak until this is done
By the might of the Gods that reside in Illsidrin
From the morning light until the setting of the sun
I won't speak until this quest comes to an end."
And just like that, she was off on her way
Going across the world to stop ultimate evil
She leaves the golden towers that glimmer in the sun
Saying nothing to those she has left behind
Silently leaving Illsidrin without saying a word to anyone
Not knowing if she'll come back to see them another time
A rustle in the bushes wakes her up in her up and she's up in her feet
Half asleep but sword already in hand
She sees someone else with his sword ready and unsheathed
She wonders to herself who is this mystery man?
"I do not come to fight!  I come in peace!
I do not know where you really come from!
What I do know is that you're from the east!
I want to join your journey to the setting of the sun!"
She though for a second and nodded her head
And started to pack things up, getting ready to leave
He joined up with her and not a word was said
As they begin the journey to the other edge of the world and sea.

IT WAS FINE UNTIL......

IT WAS FINE UNTIL.........

It was fine until you saw my face
You didn't want to know me anymore
Thanks for making me feel like such a waste
And wondering what I'm living for
I guess this sadness will never end
And all I'll ever see is rejection
All I'll ever hear is "let's just be friends"
While leaving my heart unprotected
I should just quit while I'm ahead
Trying to make something happen that never will
The harsh reality of knowing I'll never share my bed
Knowing my dream will never be fulfilled
I guess I must get used being lonely
Get used to never having a helping hand
Get used to having my shadow as company only
As I roam through this barren wasteland.

SOMEONE FOR EVERYONE?

SOMEONE FOR EVERYONE

There's someone for everyone, that's what they say
But when women see me, they turn the other way
Rejection after rejection, turning my heart cold
Knowing I'll be alone, even when I grow old
Looking for someone who can heal these wounds
But I won't hold my breath, that won't happen soon
It's just another saying that sounds good on paper
But in real life the truth of those words begin to waver
If there was someone for everyone there would be no sadness
People depressed and desperate, alone in their madness
There would be no one who gave up on hope
Or those who have reached the end of their rope
Looking for love, but finding nothing in return
Watching their lives wither away in a slow burn
Watching the light fade as they begun to cry
Tortured souls until the day they die
There's someone for everyone, that's not what I see
I know in this life that there's no one for me.
