DARKNESS RIDES
In the deep mountains they start to rise
Half human, half evil and dead inside
Conjured up by a wizard that bent on domination
To enslave under him all things in creation
A man twisted and filled with pure hate
To him they come and his orders they await
They look like men but they have no soul
With empty dark eyes that are far from whole
Donned in armor and steel they stand still and silent
Waiting until it's time to unleash steel and violence
For years, the wizard planned out his revenge
To destroy all peace and bring goodness to an end
He only wanted to be loved and accepted by all
But they only laughed at him as they watched his fall
Thrown out of the kingdom, they called him a fool
But now he's coming back and this time he'll rule
The dark magic called him as he learned the skill
Now he's called the Doom Riders to do his will
He laughs out loud as he's filled with madness
As he brings upon the world death, blood, and sadness
"My sons, ride and leave from this place
Make them bow to me from all you will face
If they refuse, burn their lands with fire
For all who oppose, make sure they all expire
Go, and destroy the light in this world
Crush the dreams of every boy and girl
If they bow and obey, then they will be spared
If not, bring to life their worst nightmares!"
They silently leave and ride their undead horses
Mares with red eyes, driven by dark forces
A shroud of darkness and death comes along for the ride
As they travel from the south up to the north divide
On this day, that was when the dark clouds formed
Changing day to night, cooling everything that was warm
The cold embrace of death comes creeping into homes
All life can feel the chill in their bones
The cold rains begin, a warning of what was to come
It may be the last time all have seen the sun
They ride, without needing food or sleep
Bringing enslavement in one giant sweep
From Montolothia they come, bringing darkness and fear
Signaling that an end to this world is near
The end of peace, the beginning of a dark reign
The end of pleasure, the beginning of pain
They are coming, all should run for their lives
They are coming, the Doom Riders of the night.
