NOTHING, SOMETHING

NOTHING, SOMETHING

Feeling nothing
Wanting something
Having nothing
Wishing something
Liking nothing
Hating something
Endless nothing
Never something
Ugly nothing
Hopeless something
Ending with nothing
While hoping for something

I'LL HOLD YOU

I'LL HOLD YOU

As you cry a river of tears
I'll hold you and keep you near
As the sadness falls from your eyes
I'll hold you and I won't ask the reason why
As your frustration mounts up and builds
I'll hold you until all of that frustration is spilled
As you empty out everything that you hate
I'll hold you until the hours become late
And as you hold on to every single grudge
I'll hold you until all that's left inside is love.

THE TWIN

THE TWIN

He seems to go wherever I go
It seems like he's silently stalking me
And loves to be around when I feel low
I try to hide from him but I can't escape
He knows my every move, he knows my self hate
He was with me when someone called me ugly
He was with me when she said she no longer loved me
In my lowest points, he was always there
But for some reason he never seems to care
He slumps over like me when I succumb to tears
He's seen every depressing moment year after the year
He is the ugliness that resides within myself He's the twin that damages my health
I wish I could be rid of him but he never leaves
He just silently stays, despite all the pain he sees
I turn of the light and it seems like the end
But the very next day, my twin will be there again.

THE UMBER BEAST FROM BEYOND THE MIRROR

THE UMBER BEAST FROM BEYOND THE MIRROR

I can see him from beyond the mirror, it stalks me with a smile
In a green forest as it runs free in the wild
I touch the mirror but I can't get to the other side
The umber beast clearly wants me to die
It sees me as weak and wants me for food
This evil monster is up to no good
Every time I look, it gets closer and closer to me
I close my eyes afraid, my death I don't want to see
I hear it coming closer as it stalks me in the grass
An ancient beast that was locked away in the past
And now in the mirror is where it hunts and stares
I can't look away, my movement is impaired
An evil smile is now spread across its face
It knows it has me caught between time and space
It charges at me, its long claws ready to kill
I try to scream and run but I can't, it's beyond my will
Right before it gets to me, the umber beast disappears
And I'm by myself, alone, there is no one else here
The horrid beast is just a figment of my imagination
The beast was inside me to my harsh realization.
I'm the one tearing myself apart inside
It was me all along as I start to cry
In the empty silence my sorrow begins to consume
Swallowing me whole, as I turn the lights off in this room.

MOON OF MY LIFE

MOON OF MY LIFE

There she was under the awning in the rain
The whole world stopped in a moment
Our eyes locked and I knew
She didn’t know but I did
That she was the moon of my life

Shaky hands and a pounding heart
I slowly made my approach
Voice cracking like I was going through puberty
She gave me a smile that lit up my world
And right then I knew she was the moon of my life

Numbers were exchanged and dates were had
She knew I was weird and never called me names
Never called me a loser
Accepted me for me
Because she was the moon of my life

She rescued me from my nightmare
Of being cold and alone
She was sunlight coming into my darkened world
And brightening it up, making my world anew
She was the moon of my life

She kept me warm at night
Fulfilling passions only in fantasies
But it was always much more than sex
Waking up next to her was a dream come true
That's what made her the moon of my life

Even when the clouds started to form
And the rainy days came
She still believed in me and I in her
Life was never perfect but I loved every single day
Because she was the moon of my life

She was human, far from perfection
But that's what I loved most about her
Empathetic to how she was feeling
I comforted her on the days she felt low
Because she was the moon of my life

Many years passed and life went on
Gray hairs came in our twilight years
She was more beautiful then ever before
It was like seeing her for the first time again
Under the awning during that storm 50 years ago
Because she was the moon of my life

Dying old and satisfied, surrounded by family
Not afraid now to take my last breath
Don't cry my love, you gave me a beautiful life
I didn't live this long for me, It was all for you
You gave me a reason to want to go on In this world
I'm not sad, but I do want one last wish
To leave this world with one more kiss
The memory of it will last me for all of eternity
Until we meet again far beyond the stars
Returning to the universe that gave birth to us
I will wait for you until you we unite again
Because you are the moon of my life

THE LAST MARCH

THE LAST MARCH

They march in silence with sad, hardened faces
Knowing that this is their final day
After winning battles in many different places
This is where their bodies will end up today
They marched all day long and into the night Until the rise of their fiery red sun
They will not run, even though this is their last fight
They have fought and will all die as one
Outnumbered by thousands of the Steel Riders of Doom
There's no way this will be a battle they will win
But they must fight until the last fading moon
Even though it means here is where they'll meet their end
Battle flags are raised showing the emblem of their home
Lines of Steel Riders is all they see on the horizon
Where that line ends is truly unknown
They're all on edge, every sense heightened
All are having last thoughts of their loved ones
Their wives and children they'll never see again
All are afraid but they must do what must be done
They say silent goodbyes to family and friends
They march towards certain death, full of many fears
Picturing the black swords that will cut them all down
The whispering screams will be the last thing they hear
As they see their fellow warriors fall from all around
Onward to Montolothia, the kingdom of the black mountain
They stand, awaiting their arrival at the mountain base
Blood will be spewing from cut limbs like fountains
A gory death is what will be their fate
But they still march on, they must be brave
Not to run off like cowards but to go down fighting
The final battle that will be remembered in this age
As the black clouds up top shoot forth never ending lightning
As they slowly march on and never slow their pace
On they go, marching on to their death
Thinking of their loved ones until their last breath.

SOMEWHERE, SOMPLACE

SOMEWHERE, SOMPLACE

Somewhere in this infinite universe
There's a happier me, living a dream life
In another galaxy where stars still give birth
As I gaze at the many stars late at night.
My other self is probably not alone and full of pain
Wishing for someone to care about him
Having empty feelings that are hard to explain
Keeping those feelings locked away within
He's probably with someone he can call his true love
Thinking about her as he goes along his day
Thankful for every second with her and thanks the stars above
That he found someone who always takes his breath away
Not every day is perfect but seeing her makes him smile
His down moods are lifted when he hears her laugh
They walk through forests hand in hand for many miles
Knowing when they look at each other that this love will last
I have finally found happiness and peace
The clouds have lifted and I only see clear skies
Sharing precious moments with her as the sun rises in the east
Falling in love with her all over again when I look in her eyes
Somewhere, someplace, there is a better me
But not here on earth where I feel worthless
Wishing and hoping for something that will never be
I'm just a sad, lonely mark on the earth’s surface
The wounds cut deep and will never be healed
The truth of being alone forever stares me in the face
People say it's not true but this I know and feel
But at least there's a happier me somewhere, someplace
And that's enough for me.
That's enough for me.
