BEAUTIFUL BUT BROKEN

BEAUTIFUL BUT BROKEN

She sits alone in her room, destroyed by the world
Even though everyone says she’s a pretty girl
But they don’t know about the pain she holds inside
They don’t know about the countless  tears she cried
The many attempts to break out of her shell
She’s in her own prison and living through hell
She keeps a smile on her face but in reality she’s sad
She always says she’s doing good when everything’s bad
Making her way through this world has been a trial
It seems like everything’s always in a downward spiral
But the world only sees her as perfect in every way
She has the life people want to live every day
They think it must be great to be called a beauty queen
They think that living her life is like one sweet dream
But the truth is that she’s struggling like the rest of us
Drained emotionally without knowing who to trust
Every day is another trial of keeping it together
Because all she ever sees is clouds and stormy weather
One day she will be able to spread her wings and fly
To rise higher and higher up into the sky
But for now, she keeps it all locked up and unspoken
She’s beautiful outside but inside she’s broken.
