THE LONELY PLANET
In the cold reaches is space, it orbits alone
Floating on its own, without a sun to give it heat
So cold and dark, no inhabitants call it home
Another planet is what it wishes to meet
He sees other planets full of life
Thriving with plants animals and intelligent beings
But its surface is cold, colder than dry ice
Life never sprouted, the land barren, a lonely scene
If it could only feel the heat of a sun
That's at it truly wants
But on its own, so far away from anyone
The planet is filled with icy haunts
In a vast galaxy it stays alone, unfounded and unexplored
The emptiness seems to be eating it alive
Other planets get the glory but its ignored
Waiting for eons to see some signs of life
Nothing came up and floats through the universe
With sadness as its shadow, it orbits alone
Feeling left out, thrown away, forever cursed
Just looking for a star to warm its home.
