I CAN BREATHE AGAIN

She walks by, my heart skips a beat
I just stand there, motionless on my feet
Just her eyes made my sadness end
And when she smiled, I could breathe again
She gave me something to live for
She was a mystery and I wanted to know more
She gave me a feeling I haven’t had in years
All I’ve ever felt was sadness and tears
She made me feel something else for the first time
Something that seemed so foreign to my mind
She made the clouds and darkness go away
She made me look forward to seeing another day
For the first time I have felt the breath of life
I have finally seen an ending to my night
I can finally breathe again because of her
I can finally smile again because of her.

HAPPY FOR WHAT?  (MOURNING HUMANITY'S DEATH)

I can't ignore the violence
I can't ignore the hate
I can't ignore the corrupt governments and authority
I can't ignore the pollution
I can't ignore the disease and death
Your worth exists in the color of your skin
Or what you have
Or who you know
The world is dying and nobody cares
They only tell you to be "happy"

What for?
We're already dead and don't know it yet
We're already lying in graves but don't realize it
We've reached the tipping point and are going over
I can't be happy when I'm mourning humanity's death
There's no reason to smile
I could be ignorant and put on those rose colored glasses
But I know too much to do so
It's all over, I see what's coming
The quest for civility and peace is lost
The quest for equality and love for one another is gone
Only hatred and separation exists
While evil governments watch and enjoy the killing
And we only continue to pick out poison that will kill us all
I have nothing to be happy for
When I can see that soon humanity will be no more.

Before this world goes because of war and stress
Before we all kill each other in a bloody mess
I just want to find someone in this world to love
I want to find it like everyone else does

Before humanity's poisoned by chemicals and disease
Before pollution brings us all to our knees
I just want to be loved by someone on this earth
The only thing I've ever wanted since my birth

Before we end each other in a blaze of hate
Before divide and conquer seals our own fate
I want someone in this world to touch my heart

IF HE KNEW THE TREASURE HE HAD

If he knew the treasure he had in you
He wouldn't ignore you like the way he does
He would support you for what you go through
He would be a true gentleman like in the days that once was
He would show he really cared
He would be there for you on your bad days
He would treat you gentle and fair
And would honor and protect you in many ways
If he knew the beautiful sunflower he had
He would give you the sunlight you need
He would make you smile and keep you from being sad
And be honest in every word and deed
If he knew what he had, he would treat you like a queen
Like the Sunflower Queen that you really are
He would take you to the sweetest places in dreams
And be grateful for your light, that shines brighter than a star.

IMAGINED WORDS

IMAGINED WORDS

You're fat
You're ugly
You're worthless
You're a loser
No woman will ever want yo
You'll be alone forever
You're a failure

These words keep beating me down
They hit me hard and pound me around
I feel like I'll never be the same again
I just want this loneliness to end
Alone in my mind is a dangerous place
But these hurtful words I have to face
This is not something I intended to do
But this is something I must go through

I am not those words that are in my head
They're imagined words to beat me dead
I can't let the negative thoughts creep in
They overwhelm me and then depression wins
Then I feel so worthless once more
And I wonder what life is living for
My self esteem is low and so is my self worth
But I must dig deep and not let these words give birth

You can do this
Those words are lies
You are strong enough
You're not a loser
You're not a failure
You are good enough

I fight those imagined words with the good
Defeating those negative thoughts, like I hope they would
My mind is clearing, I begin to breathe
I close my eyes, I can feel peace
The intentions were imagined, words I'll never know
I push them all away and let them go
The shattered pieces of me still remain
But I must remember the meaning of my name

I'm the little dear, or beloved one
I am the chosen, I am Odin's Son
I am the one who refuses to kneel
I am the one who dreams of magic and steel
I am the Metalhead who lives for Metal
I will fight for what I want and I'll never settle
I won't be at myself up, that's not what I deserve
I won't give in to those imagined words.

Thank you for letting me in your world
An honor that I didn't deserve
And you let your feelings unfurl
And I hung on to every word
So thank you for being yourself
You are such an awesome being

FLAMES OF LOVE

I need nothing else now that I have you
Finally I have found someone honest and true
I never thought I would find love on this loveless earth
I had that small spark inside of me since birth
And that spark became a flame when you touched my soul
It became a wildfire that was out of control
Burning away the darkness, sadness and fear
With you around, all those things disappear
Together, we can face the storms on this cruel land
We will face them all, hand in hand
I don't think I'll ever be able to thank you enough for choosing me
But I'll spend my life showing you this new view I see
With this flame we have made together
Each day will get better and better
As we grow and journey through this trail called life
The flames of love has melted my soul that was ice.

THE BATHROOM KISS

THE BATHROOM KISS

It was so wrong but felt so right
He should be even be in this room
But they both needed each other that night
But it happened so fast, he almost swooned
She's married, but he still couldn't resist
And neither could she, the attraction was too much
The air ignited when they touched lips
Turning the pain they both had in their lives to dust
He, living with the pain of being alone
Her, stuck in a marriage that was without love
It was a kiss that struck right to the bone
And made enough power to move the stars above
He was only there to paint the house
He was only doing a job
He wasn't expecting to kiss her on the mouth
And he loved it, that seemed so odd
They swore to never do that again
It was a line that he should have never crossed
All she would ever be was just a good friend
He had to remember she was the wife of the boss
But he couldn't stop thinking about that amazing moment
That gave him feelings he hasn't had in years
How could one short kiss be so strong and potent?
And so moving, it almost brought him to tears
But he must never do that and cross the line
Even if it felt like that kiss healed his soul
To go that far, he must have been out of his mind
And this is something that must never be repeated or told
But between them, they knew that sparks would fly
It would be so wrong, but feel so right
Forbidden love that would make them fly high
And ignite flames of passion late at night.

THE SUN'S DAUGHTER

THE SUN'S DAUGHTER

She was with her father billions of years ago
Felt his eternal warmth and life giving glow
And she came down on the earth to spark life
A tender soul, her aura gave light in the night
She kissed the ground and her daughters grew
Her sunflowers that loved the sun as she did too
She cared for them so because they were her own
She looks up at her father in the sky and back at her new home
Her kiss spread  everywhere and life began to thrive
Even in the places where darkness resides
She smiled at her children as they swayed in the wind
They smiled back at her and made her feel love from within
She is the sun's daughter, the mother of sunflowers
Her soul shines through all, even during the darkest day of showers
She is the beginning of life, giver of love to all
Her sunflowers rise and glow to her calming call
She is a queen, a mother, the most precious treasure on earth
And her father looks on, giving her power and is proud of her rebirth
Nature songs with her as she sings and dances in the sun
She is the sun's daughter with beauty compared to no one.
