THE WORLD BEYOND THE GOLDEN MIRROR

THE WORLD BEYOND THE GOLDEN MIRROR

"Come here!  Be a man and take your beating!"
"You stupid ugly fat worthless peice of shit!"
The words stung as he kept retreating
And he raises his hands up to deflect the hits
In reality he's living inside a house of hell
Where he goes unnoticed, his feelings abandoned
But he can't hide all the scars and welts
School is even worse, he's always rejected
A lonely nobody wishing for his own death
A foolish boy who prayed but was never protected
"Here comes fat boy the ground is shaking!"
That's what they would say as they all laughed
They didn't realize how his sanity was breaking
He said nothing as he walked past
He walks home alone to look at his ugly face
But in the golden mirror he sees another land
There are no words to describe this beautiful place
He's a hero in this world with a sword in his hand
A world filled with magic and wonder
He's a living legend who fights with passion
In that world there is an endless summer
He rides the sky on the back of a dragon
The girl of his dreams lies in this world beyond
She would never call him ugly or fat
Ancient magic spells rest within his palm
But as for now he's stuck in this evil trap
The door opens and he snaps out of his dream
The beast is coming up the stairs to give him pain
The world beyond is real, or so it seems
He walks through the mirror and he's into his world
He's never been so happy before
And right beside him is that beautiful dream girl
Now finally at last his heart can soar

The funeral room is packed as people walk by
Another tragedy of a life gone too soon
All his mother could do was sit down and cry
She found him dead with a smile in the bathroom
An empty bottle of aspirin was found nearby
No one knew how much he wanted it to end
Everyone wanted to know why he took his own life
No one understood, not even his only friend
He was in his fantasy, forever stuck in time
Fighting evil wizards and saving his world
No more sadness, he finally felt fine
With her red hair flowing he fought alongside his dream girl
He knew what it felt like to finally feel love
A feeling he never experienced before
On his dragon they soared through the sky above
On their way to save their world from war
It wasn't just a dream, this world really does exist
He thought to himself with a smile on his face
He never knew he could have a reality like this
He never wants to leave this place...
