CARDIGAN AND ALAIA

CARDIGAN AND ALAIA

He was a lonely man, used to sleepless nights
He was a warrior and only lived for the fight
The warrior without a heart is what he was
He had a heart but it was cut off from the world with stone walls
The only thing he knew was the way of steel
The only thing in his life that felt so real
That's all he had and nothing else mattered
But she came into his world and his views were shattered
She was a dream, with a warrior's heart like his
He never thought a woman like her could ever exist
Her hair looking like threads of pure gold
She warmed up his heart which was so ice cold
A woman that learned the ways of the sword
Was a woman highly esteemed, with beauty beyond words
For the first time in his life, he actually felt fear
Of saying the wrong thing whenever she came
The warrior who stared death in the face and laughed
Is now so timid and nervous whenever she would pass
She made feelings he never felt before start to grow
He would fight an army and die for her in the coldest snow
He would search for the rarest flower just to see that smile
A smile that could brighten up the roadways for many miles
Her eyes had a way of looking straight into his soul
And whatever was on his mind, she would already know
The world would pass by and fade into mist
When she came close and kissed him on the lips
For the fist time in his life, Cardigan had something to live for
She is all that's good in his world and so much more.
