THE CRIES FROM BEYOND THE ICE

THE CRIES FROM BEYOND THE ICE

He hears her cries as he sits upright in bed
In the dark he blindly reaches for his sword
The cries for help are only in his head
But he wakes up, haunted by her words
He can see her as plain as day
Deep beyond the lands of ice
She's trapped, cold and locked away
Inside some evil device
He knows it's not a dream, she really needs help
And he must heed the call
And he knows that he must do this himself
As he runs blindly down the hall
He goes to his library and opens ancient books
Written in the times of old
He reads the writing with weird lines and hooks
And sees the story unfold
The voice he hears are the cries of Lady Elka
The Steel Riders tore her from her home
It was her pride, her only place of shelter
The only place that she had ever known
She's surrounded by ancient evil deep in the cold
A place where no man survives
It has already happened before as it once was told
And the hero in the story eventually dies
She's scared for her life and her he must save
Even though he knows what the outcome will be
He mus ignore his own life, rise up and be brave
The visions of her crying is all he can see
He feels her pain and it strikes his heart
To see her so tortured and in pain
Even though they're thousands of leagues apart
To save her is a goal he must attain
In the middle of the night before the sun rises
He gets on his horse and travels south
Who knows what will happen or what surprises
Will happen to him as he heads out.
