RAIN OF FIRE FROM MONTOLOTHIA (A KNIGHT'S LAST STAND)

RAIN OF FIRE FROM MONTOLOTHIA
(A KNIGHT'S LAST STAND)

The lightning strikes so close
Heading to the source of the storm
Light's fading fast and so is hope
I wish I was at home, with my love so warm
A fool's quest is what this is
I will never again see my wife and kids
I won't watch them learn and grow
I love them so much but they'll never know

Oh hear me now, my love
Darkness is calling, fire rains from above
If you hear me now, please answer my call
Before I'm gone once and for all
Before I'm gone once and for all eternity

Almost at the top, I hear the rumble of thunder
The ring of black clouds make me stare in wonder
How could he survive mixed in with so much fire
His hate for life must be strong and he's stuck in mire
Finally, at last I have made it to the top
But what I saw almost made my heart stop
He's there with a maniacal look in his eye
I already can tell that he wants me to die

Oh hear me now, my love
Darkness is calling, fire rains from above
If you hear me now, please answer my call
Before I'm gone once and for all
Before I'm gone once and for all eternity

The fire and lightning rains down on him but he's not burned
It must be from the dark arts he has learned
He seems to be transfixed on nothing but revenge
He wants to see all who oppose him come to an end
He sees me and shoots forth lightning as black as night
This might be the end, I say goodbye to my life
I'm hit, the shock almost pulls me apart
And now I feel the slowing down of my heart

Oh hear me now, my love
Darkness is calling, fire rains from above
If you hear me now, please answer my call
Before I'm gone once and for all
Before I'm gone once and for all eternity

The fire rains down and he stands over me with a laugh
I'm in so much pain and every breath is a gasp
The end is near, darkness closes in
I had it all, my new life was about to begin Not now, I have too much to live for
Why, why did I get caught up in this silly war?
On top on Montolothia is where my body will lie
Getting hard to concentrate, I begin to cry

Oh hear me now, my love
Darkness is calling, fire rains from above
If you hear me now, please answer my call
Before I'm gone once and for all
Before I'm gone once and for all eternity

I'm not on the black cliffs of Montolothia anymore
Here I am, on some beautiful shore
Green trees are nearby and then I see
My beautiful wife and kids run towards me
With tears in my eyes, I run to meet them
Wondering how did I get here, and when?
She whispers to me: "It's okay now, no more tears
We will be together for endless years!"
I wonder where we could be, a place so nice
Too good to be true, this must be paradise

Oh hear me now, my love
Darkness is calling, fire rains from above
If you hear me now, please answer my call
Before I'm gone once and for all
Before I'm gone once and for all eternity

El-Kyria stands over him, he's no longer breathing
He's smiling, eyes open but he's no longer seeing
"Just another fool who refused to kneel
He tried to stop me with his worthless steel
I am darkness now, I will have my revenge
And my rage will last forever, it will never end!"
He stares out into the valley below
Preparing to give it the final death blow

Oh hear me now, my love
Darkness is calling, fire rains from above
If you hear me now, please answer my call
Before I'm gone once and for all
Before I'm gone once and for all eternity

The skies are so blue here, he never wants to leave
As he holds his wife in his arms and stares out at the sea
Further off, his children laugh and play
Yes, this is paradise and here he will stay
He's finally at peace but still wonders how he got here
Looking into his wife's eyes stills all of his fears
Looking up at him, she gives him a kiss
Sending his world reeling with her soft lips
This is home now, he has found his peace
As he sees the sun that never seems to move in the east

You heard me my love, you heard my call
I'm with you now, I have it all
I'm here in the light, where I always wanted to be
I'm here with you, for all of eternity.
