THE SUNFLOWER QUEEN AND THE FALLEN KNIGHT (THE CHASE)

THE SUNFLOWER QUEEN AND THE FALLEN KNIGHT (THE CHASE)

The cold night was colder than it should have been
He feels the pain of the cuts and the frozen wind
No matter what, he must continue to ride
Because the three men were just right behind
He could hear them screaming, calling for his death
But he must protect her with his last breath
If only the knights will let him through the gates
He doesn’t know if he’ll get greeted with hate
He’s an oathbreaker, never allowed to go back
But Crenwell will fall into evil hands
Who will do nothing but break the people and the land
He can hear the hooves of the men behind him
He’s fading in and out, his vision is getting dim
He can’t lose conscious, he must stay aware
He must hold on, he’s almost there
He thinks of his Queen and that gives him strength
They’re close to catching him, away only an arm’s length
He rides on his horse faster, he cannot fail
He’s risking his life and a lifetime in jail
Now he sees the gates, they’re finally in view
He gets more strength and he feels anew
He see his former brothers, ready to defend
He must explain what’s going on before he meets his end
He reaches the gates and falls off his horse
The other men stop and start taking out their swords
So this is how it ends, in the pitch black night
At least he’s at the gates of Crenwell, he’s lived a full life
“These men, you must stop!”, he screamed with the breath in his lungs
“They plan to usurp the Queen and enslave everyone!”
The knights came out with their swords in their hands
The Fallen Knight’s last vision was looking at feet in the sand
That was the last he remembered as he fell into dreams
Is he dying, he thinks as he sees visions of the Queen
Her sunflower crown shines as she’s enveloped by light
He’s slowly fading away, as he tries to fight....
